Best Email Marketing Tools for Beginners

If you have never used an email marketing tool before, the last thing you need is a platform that requires a week of tutorials before you can send your first email. We ranked every tool primarily by how easy it is to get started — from account setup to sending your first campaign. This is based on our own walkthroughs, G2 and Capterra ease-of-use ratings, and what new users consistently report in community discussions. MailerLite has won 'Best Ease of Use' on G2 and Capterra every year since 2023 for a reason, but it is not the only beginner-friendly option.

Transparency note: We earn affiliate commissions from some tools listed here. This never influences our rankings — our scoring methodology is published and open for scrutiny.

What to look for

  • Time to first email — how long from signup to actually sending your first campaign? The best tools get you there in under 30 minutes
  • Editor quality — drag-and-drop builders with pre-designed blocks let you create professional emails without design skills
  • Free plan availability — beginners should not pay until they know the tool works for them. Look for free plans with real features, not stripped-down demos
  • Template library — good starter templates save hours and teach you email design patterns as you customise them
  • Support quality — when you get stuck (you will), how fast and helpful is the support team? Check Capterra and Trustpilot ratings specifically for support
